Sounds a bit late to be planting runner beans? Are you planting more than
one batch? Mine are already fully over the bamboo supports and covered in
flowers; I expect to harvest the first beans in a week or two, then
continue harvesting right up until the first hard frost.


Yes it's a second batch. We're only growing fot the two of us, and I like to
keep them going as long as I can. Although having said that, the first batch
have been having a tought time with slugs and with rabbits, so the second
batch may be the only hope.
