Default cheerful shrub suggestion for shaded location

Could someone please suggest a good *evergreen* fairly hardy shrub that
will produce cheerful flowers in a south facing, but shaded location in
North London.

It's to go in good top soil that's about a foot and a half deep, and then
resting
on clay. Many thanks.

Drimys lanceolata, Choisya ternata, Camellias, Rhododendrons. The
following are scented, as are some Rhododendrons. Eleagnus ebbingei
Limelight, Sarcococca confusa, Mahonias, Osmanthus,
