Any ideas? See this:

This blue tit was found dead in the birdfeeder, hanging there, as you
see.

My friend, whose feeder it is, says:

Recently dead (it was still warm) and completely jammed into the seed feeder
shoot!! Head squashed to a pulp - took a lot of effort to free it. What the
hell has gone on? Has it flown into the hole or what? !

She says she had to remove all the seeds to get the poor thing out. The
head was crushed, but not bloody. Her garden is small, and very
enclosed -- it would be virtually impossible for anyone to sneak in and
do this as a "prank" -- not without leaving broken bits of fence,
shrubbery etc.

Has anyone ever experienced such a thing? Bird flies full tilt into
feeder hole?!

Cheers
John

Sad. Better than it having been got by the cat though.
It'll have got wet seed inside? looks a bit clumpy?

We've got a feeder where the holes are too small for them to reach
into... that needs some serious messing with.
