Owls regurgitate pellets as well. They are bones, fur, and, if they owls
are munching on crayfish, chitin.
Biologists will take apart the pellets to determine what the birds
have been eating.
For some species of small tasty things, the bones found in the owl
pellets are the only evidence of the critter's existance.
