Maybe some smaller birds do the same. Owls regurgitate pellets as well. They are bones, fur, and, if they owls are munching on crayfish, chitin. Biologists will take apart the pellets to determine what the birds have been eating. For some species of small tasty things, the bones found in the owl pellets are the only evidence of the critter's existance. |
