Wonderful, diffuse lighting on the orchid against the jet black
background makes the image "Pop".
What was your light source?

My light source was the sun. :-) Though the orchid was actually in light
shade, I "cheated" slightly, the background is not a result of camera
settings, as is my usual practice, but a sheet of black corflute.
