What's this baby, emerging in Central Ohio
probably a couple weeks early.

I don't find it in Newcomb's.

Mustard-like flower but leaves all wrong for a
mustard.

It is Vinca minor.
Here is a link to Ohio states page on V. minor.

Myrtle was my first guess - other years

but this baby has four petals not five, as do all its neighbors
(not shown).

The leaves are right for myrtle, though. Is four petals a variant?
