In Gardens Illustrated (yes i know very expensive but such lovely pictures
and some really good articles so i share the subscription with 2 others)
it says that there is a Great British Elm Experiment where the charity
Conservation Foundation is offering saplings micro propagated from elms
that seem to have withstood the attack from the elm beetle.
They want Elm guardians who will monitor and care for the little saplings.

The magazine has a raffle/giveaway of 5 elm saplings (worth 26.45 each)
Schools and community groups are eligible for free saplings and anyone else

Seems like a nice Christmas present!
I've passed that on to a neighbour who is helping out with a garden and
allotment at a school for special needs children.
