It's a grey drizzly sort of day and really not at all inviting.
However, I'm determined to tackle some ropes of bindweed I found in a
wilder bit of the garden yesterday. People must wonder if we're
cultivating it!

Well, you ARE cultivating it if you have let it grow! Just a joke.

You've got a point there!

Surely you have to aid its growth to be said to be "growing it", rather
than to "have it growing"

You have another good point there.
Cultivation is surely promoting growth?
You can aid the weed growth by letting rain get to it, or watering it with
the other plant (which you planted), and maybe fed with your own
fertiliser! To me that means cultivation.
I mean this lighthearted.
