As a five year old mingling and watching history unfold from the wings of
the RKO Theater in Brooklyn as Rock and Roll was born, through pioneering
work in the 70's where modern music was shaped and sent around the world,
time spent with a friend, the late Jaco Pastorius, through to today with The
Awakening, Frank Stokes has lived the medicine life of his ancestors,
continuing on in the traditional ways first shown to him by his grandfather,
a dark skinned man standing 5" 2' tall, born in 1876 on a reservation,
living until 1962. The music created by Mr. Stokes and a dedicated group of
professionals is jazz in the most modern sense, born in vision and wrapped
in prayers for healing. Among the fans of this music are patients in all
stages of battle and recovery who've written in to tell us they've found
comfort in the music. Mr. Stokes is sincere in his desire to help people, so
he's posted nearly half an hour of his music as free downloads.
