Default [IBC] New Bonsai Benches

Just finished one of the most exhausting and enjoyable day's bonsai
related effort. I invited our club to come and work in my garden for the
day. In glorious sun we rearranged all my stock, stripping out the old
area of trees that I had on palettes on the ground, levelling and
placing stone slabs as footings. Weed barrier fabric was spread and 2
tonnes of limestone chippings barrowed down the garden to cover the
area. Six benches that I built were then installed and all the
pre-bonsai put back. After a hearty barbecue everyone left with a car
boot (trunk) full of trees to thank them for their efforts.

A couple of members disappeared for most of the day and when I went to
check what they had been up to they had cleared the weeds from all of my
growing beds, cut the hedges and tidied up the entire area. I was
gobsmacked.

I managed to pare down my collection and can now look after the
remaining stock much more easily.

I just about managed to get the irrigation system cobbled together again
for a quick watering before coming in to check my email. Now I
desperately need a long hot soak and will be praying that my back
twinges don't turn out to be a bout of seizure by tomorrow!

Pics on gallery to follow (once I've recovered) :-)

My Goodness! What a great idea! My lawn needs mowing. Weeds
are overtaking my vegetable garden. Two of the trees that shade
my bonsai need major branches pruned -- 30 feet up!

Watch out Tallahassee Bonsai Society!
