[IBC] the IBC on Bonsaitalk
List readers might be interested in how the IBC is perceived elsewhere.
A list refugee and a few others are discussing the IBC in this thread. I'd recommend it as interesting reading. I'm holding forth for the IBC. The perception is that it is a list for "professionals and semi-professionals" as one person put it. I was quick to point out that I'm neither, being in bonsai for only 4 years and a minister by profession. I'd be curious about anyone's thoughts. Don't just dismiss this as a bunch of whiners who have sticks in pots. A number of IBC people post there as well including Walter Pall, Carl Rosner, etc. Craig Cowing NY Zone5b/6a Sunset 37 http://forum.bonsaitalk.com/showthre...4646#post34646 ************************************************** ****************************** ++++Sponsored, in part, by Dale Cochoy++++ ************************************************** ****************************** -- The IBC HOME PAGE & FAQ: http://www.internetbonsaiclub.org/ -- +++++ Questions? I think once a list gets over a certain number of members, it gets
unwieldy. There must be some reason why our list stays at 500. There's probably some fixed ratio of posters and lurkers that allows a tolerable climate for discussion. I imagine you can only have 10-15 egotists per list, and we've got our quota, so superfluous egotists have to migrate to new territories and set up new colonies. Very astute, Nina. It's entirely possible that you are the glue that holds
us together. Craig,
Most of the posts also mention the high quality of the trees posted on the IBC and most of the people regarly look at it. They do not post there for the reasons you mention, but have a high opinion of it. I don't think that there's a need for you to be "holding forth for theIBC" regards, René "Craig Cowing" schreef in bericht ... List readers might be interested in how the IBC is perceived elsewhere.
