Default [IBC] Tori Gate Colour

Hi Dancing Waters.

I think you are asking about the color wheel mix-- perhaps the hex or CMGY
or RBG ratios.

I googled it thinking it might be a piece of cake.

The first site warned:
----
RE' Color... Please be aware that the colors you see on your screen may vary
slightly from what their true colors are. There are several factors that
influence this discrepancy; what computer you use (Windows-based are
generally about 10% darker than Macs), what monitor you use, and your
individual settings all affect the representation of colors you see on your
screen.
-----
I wouldn't be overly concerned that Macs see color differently... but the
Mac user might if you are looking for internet publication.

The next site with Vermillion (Chinese red) color was:
http://www.geocities.com/SiliconVall...ompare.html... just run
youir cursor over the name Vermillion and the background goes RED. This is
about the color refinished vermillion furniture (also the color of torii
gates) are newly painted by Japanese restorers. Old fading vermillion
however is a warm orange-color (as you have noted) and on old torii gates it
is often the original color with wood now peeking through.

Trying, again:
http://html-color-codes.com/rgb.html... This color chart by VisiBone comes
closest at RGB 255-51-0, & you can play with colors starting there to mellow
it. For example, 255-102-0 looks closer to "old vermillion" than
255-102-51 on the chart.

Hope that helps.

Best wishes,
Chris... , Richmond VA USA
