Japanese Maple Air Layer - Node?
I'm preparing to air layer an A. palmatum "Shindeshojo." Is it advantageous
to locate the top of the cut (where I want the callus to form/roots to grow on the "new tree") at a nodal point? Does this have any bearing on its ability to strike roots? For those familiar with this propagating this cultivar, will Hormex 16 suffice, or is Hormex 30 better advised? Thanks! Blake in Houston |
