HI
I have two questions
1) I am trying to make an air layering from a Palmatum maple
2oregon sunset" or something like , and started over 2 months ago
putting sfagnum after taking away a ring fo bark and applying hormons..
No roots at all!
the leaves are still their normal color golden yellow..light pink
tinted ....as they are in the spring flush ...

2) I bought a Seigen Palmatum maple..
any suggestion any special care for it ?

You have numerous possibilities.
You didn't cut the ring deep enough and it has calloused over.
Your hormone powder maybe old and has expired.
You allowed the moss to dry out or haven't been keeping it sufficiantly moist.
