Default Picking Peppers

I'm growing two hot pepper plants and right now they have set a lot of
peppers. I can tell when to pick the tomatoes because they turn red. My
problem is that I think the final peppers are green and they start out
green so it's difficult to tell when they're ready to eat. Is there any
way to do this?
