Does anyone curently use HQI or HQL lamps for there planted aquarium? What are the opinions? Drew I've used MH 's and also track lighting 12v DC's. GE color precise 50 w lamps were the best I used. Tropica now sells a small single 50 w QTL style cube tank. The color temp is 3050K most folks don't like the warmer colors unless they use it for house lighting for some reason. Not sure why it's okay to use warm lighting for everything else but not the tank. Grows plants quite well. HQI's are more expensive generally than the standard MH bulbs but double ended and smaller etc. They are nice and if you like the look and the styling, they are worth it then. Regards, Tom Barr |
