I was told it is a Woodrose but am looking for the botanical name?

Looks like Camellia japonica Professor Sargent. That's an oldie. So it could
be some newer hybrid.

Thanks Gary but it is not a Camellia for sure.
I shall have to take some more pics. When the petals fall off there is a
woody seed pod thing like a mini
pomegranite?

The only woodrose I know is an Ipomoea, a morning glory but this doesn't
look like that one
