Default unknown caterpillar

photographed seven days ago. I've found 4. All had disappeared overnight by now.
They live in a tube built of spiral-wound strips of rose-leaves.
This is a lucky shot insofar as - because of the damaged leaves - the caterpillar had to reach out so far to gain a bit of edible material.
As a rule they stay well-hidden in their holes with only the head peaking out only as much as necessary.
I transferred the whole thing to a healthy rose-leaf after the shot, which had been well appreciated.

I spotted these caterpillars for the first time 15-20 years ago and every 3rd-4th year since.
