Avoid Spring Hill like the plague!!!

I placed an order with them in March and I am still waiting for several
things to arrive. What did arrive was pretty much either dead in the
box or so small it looked like they planted the seed in the dirt and
then dropped it in the delivery box. Very poor quality plants and
service!

I also ordered from Bluestone Perennials (www.bluestoneperennials.com)
and Greenwood nursery (www.greenwoodnursery.com).

Both bluestone and greenwood delivery when they said they would.
Everything was alive and doing well. I even received a few bonus
plants at no cost from bluestone. So far everything that was planted
is still alive and growing like gangbusters! I would absolutely do
business with both of these companies again. The spring hill catalogs
go straight to the trash. I've asked to be removed from their
mailing list but they can't seem to get that right either.

Spring hill made it very frustrating to wait for plants, have to
repeatedly call them only to get more and more b.s. about how soon
everything was going to ship. Then it arrives months late and dead in
the box.

I bought a new house that need a lot of landscaping and have spent many
hours in my new garden. I'm still a rookie and learning a lot but
also having a lot of fun. I'm hooked!

Never, ever order from Spring Hill!

Hi,
Has anyone here had any experience with Spring Hill? I remember years
ago, people being ripped off by Michigan Bulb. Looking through the SH
catalog, the prices seem to be *really* low, and the saying "If
something seems to be too good to be true, it usually is." keeps
running through my mind! I would appreciate any info, pro or con that
anyone can give.
Thanks!

Agree with others on SH--

The only mail ordering I've done this year is;
A Lonicera from www.mailordernatives.com -- Great plant- quick
turnaround- and the price was amazing! $8 for a gallon live plant.
The plant is quite vigorous and looks like it has been in the ground
for years- though it has only been here for a few weeks.
[she's done shipping for the year- ut check her out for fall
planting.]

And last week I got a rose from Roses Unlimited in SC-
www.rosesunlimitedownroot.com/ It was an unusual rose [Francis
Dubreuil] that I hadn't been able to get elsewhere. It was a
little pricey-- and shipping added another $15 to the tab. But the
rose traveled from SC to NY in 2 days- and arrived in a 1 gallon pot
whose soil was still firmly attached to the roots.
