Default Garden Log Format?

After a few years of relatively unscheduled gardening, I have
started to keep a log.

But it is just a text file that looks like:

-------------------------
21 October 07 - Planted tomatoes.

29 December 07 - Added epsom salts around tomatoes.

2 November 07 - Planted capsicums.

7 December 07 - Fruits appearing on tomato plants.

14 December 07 - First female flowers on zucchini.
-------------------------

And so on like that. (The above is just for example, not real
info.)

Does anybody have ideas to offer on a better format? Like maybe
a database row/field type of thing?

Thanks...
