Default questions *mainly succulents*

hi all, i joined here a while back...posted one post i think and didnt come back....anyhow i have some questions!

i have been keen on plants all muy life but never have i been professional or anything, im amateur lol, but i have a few plants....one is a mother in laws tongue...a very small one, i have a few aloe vera a large single one and a few spouted baby ones i moved to their own pots, and a couple of money trees? also called jade plants? i forget ..the money plant/tree...one has very thin leaves and the other is the succulent...this is the succulent one i have!
also i have this little cacti/succulent thing ...i cannot remember the name ...thats my entire collection

i needed to ask about the two i know what they are....firstly the aloe...i had it on a windowledge indoors...and it was in a ...pretty small pot with regular compost mix pretty cheap stuff...and it was fine...and it ouitgrew the pot so i got a bigger one, much wider and obviosly a bit deeper... at this time lol someone told me they have strange roots that are thick and burroew deeply down which i know now to be the total opposite, anyhow when i re potted it...i think i may have harmed it because it was autumn/winter when i did it...but its ok now i think , well its getting better since i moved it from the window, it was i think to cold and the leaves started to go a little orange and looked almost as if it was dehydrated....so i moved it...and its looking nicer now....

i look around the net but its suprisingluy hard to find comprehensive info on how to maintain them...does anyone have a basic guide for Aloe vera?

Next is the money plant...(if thats its correct name lol) .... i had one from a planted leaf ive had it for 2 years or so, the same thing happened to this one ...this wasnt good at all...
it was leaning...so i was to re pot it with a small stick for support, and i dropped it outside on the floor...after taking it out of the 1st pot , it actually broke.....the stem broke right near the base, and again near the top.....which at the time was sprouting more leaves and i think 2 were new branches.. anyhow so now i had a base with roots lol like 4 cm of stem with 2 leaves big ones intact , then a large part the main plant, and the top......
i re potted the lot LOL just in chance, also .....a day later i got some rooting powder, so i got some of this powder and placed it on the open bottom of the stalk...planted it in the compost but not very deep..only say 1 cm....and the top part i also did this to.....the middle bit i gave to a freind, NOW though something really neat has happened, the bottom bit the thick base of the plant has sprouted leaves ...but ...not like normal, from this "wound" now have sprouted no less than 4 leaves straight from the edge of the wound but 2 branches...that each have 4 leaves ..(2 sets of 2) each and one is making new ones now!! this one , i need to ask will this become a REALLY bushy plant ? really stocky?

also again to the top bit...lol this i also planted 2 leaves in the pot ...i was trying a plan.......this plan came in fact from the aloe./..

this is the idea, people...like to have organised plants...i think so they will take the sprouting plants away from the larger one, i want to grow aloe in groups, leave the baby ones in the pot with the large one....i have an idea this will look really nice a year or so down the line...

i have totally gone on a huge tangent im sorry, but any advice on aloe or the money/jade will go down a storm in fact i will get pics here.....
also what makes soil go white?? calcium? after not watering the plants for a while...the soil if dry sometimes has white ish colour on the top....or maybe its the food i give them?

thanks for reading all this if you managed it lol
