Default Poinsettia- Getting to flower- What about on weekends?

Hi there,

I have read that in order to get my poinsettia plant to flower, that I
should start putting it in a dark place overnight.

What about on weekends? Is it better to leave it in the dark the whole
weekend, or to leave it out in the light?

Thanks in advance.
