Pull out what you can by hand (use work gloves). Then carefully watch
for new sprouts to appear and hit them with Roundup of Finale. A month later apply again. But the main root is from another property, you have an endless battle on your hands. But the main root is from another property, : you have an endless battle on your hands. Getting rid of ivy requires inhuman persistence. Before applying Roundup, get in there and hurt the leaves. Golf shoes or soccer spikes are good. Running over them with a lawn mower is good, too. The leaves are just waxy enough that Roundup isn't as effective as it could be. Every little piece of root will sprout, so if you dig, dig very carefully and be sure to get every last piece. Alternatively, cover the whole mess with plastic, pile mulch on top and wait.
