Can sunflowers be transplanted safely? If so, what's the best way to do it?

Can sunflowers be transplanted?
Can sunflowers be transplanted safely? If so, what's the best way to do it? Thanks, Adam Yes, up to the time they are less than a foot tall. take up a ball of soil with the plant, A bareroot plant has a hard time. use a trowel or small shovel, enter the soil about 3 inches from the plant, go about 6 inches deep. Cut this plug all the way around the plant and pull out the plant and plug of soil, transplant into a hole of the same depth, fill and water. Rarely ever lose one. |

I start my sunflowers in 4 packs (the ones like you get annuals in) and transplant them when they are about 6 inches tall.
