Default question on bioganic

This product sounds too good to be true. As anyone ever used these products
for insect and weed control? What did you think of the results?

Disclaimer: I have not used any of these products and can't attest to or
against their effectiveness for the uses they advertise.

My only complaint is that (from a quick look at their site) they appear
to belong to the class of "kill it because it might be a problem"
products.

The name of the company sort of fits in with the "bio-control" theme
that is becoming important these days, but the products are chemical
insecticides (albeit naturally occuring ones).

There are insects that you should watch for, but most insects are
neutral or even beneficial, and since the clove oil and phenethyl
proprionate active ingredients are present in several different
products, they must be a wide spectrum insecticide (assuming they work).
Wide spectrum insecticides kill beneficial insects along with the pests.

On a positive note, the site contains links to MSDS PDF files for all
its products. I don't read enough advertising for garden chemicals to
know whether or not this is now standard practice, but if not, it should
be.

Default question on bioganic

My husband has used it in the doorway where barn swallows built their nest. He
sprayed up there before they layed eggs to deter the paper wasps which were
mulling around. I don't know if it's going to kill anything, though they do
make those claims.

Paper wasps? The ones that make the nests the size of a walnut or smaller?
If so, I've never been stung by them, and they've been making nests under my
garage eaves for 20 years. Do yours bite?

What sorts of pests do you think you need to get rid of?
