Soil testing.
Hello to all!
My question is: "how can I do home soli testing"? I have experience in testing the water from a hydrophonic system, but I have yet tested the condition of soil. I have an electronic "TDS" meter and a "PH" tester. Can I use these pieces of equipment and how? Thank you in advance! C |

Home soil testing is baggieing up soil samples from around your yard and
taking to your local County Soil Conservation Service (assuming you are in the US) or Ag college. As a former soils specialist, I bought small carry-around kits from he http://www.forestry-suppliers.com/dr...ory.asp?ID=313 but they didn't work well at all, took days to find out your results sucked, and now I don't see them listed on their website at all. You might try one of their more professional kits they sell these days, but I'd just take it to your county soils agent. hth, John in Houston....where the clay wouldn't settle out of a sample for a month sometimes!
