Default Buds on 6' crabapple...


.... have been 90% eaten by deer.. is this tree a goner?

Hi Kevin,

No, but the flowers are. Not to worry, trees can recover. Unless the bark has been eaten entirely around the trunk of the tree, your tree should live on.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

Thanks Newt! That's good news... I must say the tree looks strange
without the buds... not to mention the yews with no leaves

Deer, I'm beginning to hate them....
