I'm on the other coast, but I'll take a shot at this: IF they will be in an area that gets plenty of sun, and IF you are prepared to protect them from early frost (if you get frost) with little tents or plastic or any of the many protections available at nurseries or on-line... and IF the plants are large and healthy and from a good nursery, what have you got to lose, but the price of the plants? Alternatively, you could order bare roots from a good source, put them in (protect from frost if you get frost) and sit back to pick berries next year. Or you could do both!
