Default Fancy Baby chicks available Mon or Tues eve ONLY

Due to the Post Office failing to draw their airline contracts properly, I
have too many young birds, and more due out of the incubator any day now.
(Usually I ship day-old chicks all over the US every week from spring thru
late summer, but the PO can't handle live birds in the mail due to airline
problems -- even though the second piece of mail ever mailed in the colonies
by public rather than private mail delivery service was a chicken!)

I specialize in rare poultry, specializing in DARK brown egg laying breeds,
and including some of the rarest dark egg chicken breeds in the world. Also
some birds that lay blue eggs, maybe the odd one that would lay green or
even olive.

Some are older (five or six weeks), and very cool, extremely rare colors,
and with fun traits like a Mohawk hairdo, or a small hat, or big muffs and
beard.

Most available chicks are either cuckoo or black Marans, or crosses between
my darkest egg layers regardless of breed (best boys are in with all the
best hens till the new breeding pens can be built to separate the breeds).

Check out the poultry web page, the link in my sigfile. It is $6 each for
the tiny ones, cash, firm, and they MUST be picked up Monday or Tuesday
evening. For some of these chicks I get $15-20 each normally. The older
ones are $7-8 each. The ones I am sure are female are $8, the ones where
it's too soon to tell are $7.

The little ones are all a week old or less, so you will need to brood them
(box, tub, or cage with a light for a heat source) for four to six weeks
before they will be big enough for outdoors pens. The older chicks are
ready for an outdoor cage or pen, as long as you provide a heat lamp at
night.

day 765-7223, even 661-2244.

Specializing in dark eggers and the rarest breeds of chickens.
We have PENEDESENCA and EMPORDANESA from Spain!
Accepting reservations NOW for rare chickens in spring/summer 2005.
