Default Success!

Well, almost. Still, I need to crow to my orchid buddies.

At Redland this year we bought four plants from Andy's, things that are
relatively hard to find. He brought them for us at our request.

When we got home, I was less than pleased with the plants' progress,
especially a Sievekingia reichenbachiana. (By the way, whoever posted a
picture of that in abpo - that's where I got the hankering for it.) The poor
thing was getting everything it supposedly wanted, culture wise. Yet, it
dropped a couple of leaves, the spike disappeared (these flower like
Stanhopeas), and it generally looked half dead. I checked it every day and
was about to give up hope.

TaDa! Two days ago I spied two new leaves *and* a cluster of buds. Now I
think I see more spikes coming, but won't be sure until the growths are more
mature.

Doesn't take much to keep me happy, huh? Can't wait for the buds to open.
