Default Dec issue of Orchids, anyone?

I agree. I always buy at Amazon or via their used book store. I understood
there was some sort of space issues at the headquarters. Storing gifts in
space that could have been used for other purposes. Admittedly I'm not sure
what Lee Cooke had to do with the store and its operations, but I think he
was championing that program, and may have finally had to bite the bullet
and pull the plug, like all of us in business seem to be doing these days.
(Lordy, I don't know where the Feds come up with their economic data these
days, it sure isn't reflected in Calif, LOL!) Anyway, in corporate worlds
that sort of reorganizing is often seen as 'failure' isn't it? (Never
having been in corporate work I really don't know and should keep my mouth
shut.) So I'll take my own advice and shut up on the subject.

Y'know, Kath, how many books could they have been selling, since they were
asking jacket price? Who pays full price for books anymore? I've purchased
books as trophies, and Amazon sells for a fraction of what AOS was
charging.

I wondered if there was some sort of a link between the AOS stopping
selling books and instead referring people to Amazon and the Canadian
bookseller( sorry I forget its name although I'm on their email list) I
didn't know if they were pulling back on all sorts of fronts, the
bookstore being another front to pull back on. It may have been a money
losing proposition to buy/store all the inventory for the books/gifts
department.

I'm out of the loop on that front, so I don't know the reason why.

Politics.
