C. Portiata is 75% C. labiata and 25% C. bowringiana. I don't know
when 'Mel' won the HCC but its an old cross so it may have been in
prehistoric times.

The answer to the question is "No". Mildred Rives is something else and
the cross of Valewood x Log cabin doesn't seem to be registered.

Portiata 'Mel' was awarded an HCC and a CCM on 10/12/64 in Redondo Beach to
F E Harrison. 42 pale rose-lavender flowers of excellent texture on 4
spikes; petals flat and overlapping. Flower is 4 3/4 inches wide

This is not a named cross according to Wildcatt. RHS may have
something more recent.
