si si , got it!
thanks to all replies re why apples are not affected by pollen parent. at
the moment (start of autumn) my apple tree is practically ready to harvest. It has several grafts, so the boughs are heavy with apples ranging from light pinky green to deep bloom covered purple. It has been the mother of all battles between me and the blackbirds, parrots, possums and codling moths to get this almost perfect crop. I stand beside her as a partner, I, provider of all she needs and loves, she, bestower of wondrous bounty in return. (don't want any stich about apple trees actually being hermaphrodite, don't care what she does in her own time) |
