Default Plant Silicon Phylogeny

Dear All,
You may remember a couple of years ago I was picking your brains for
information on silicon in ferns and other plant groups. Well, after a
major search of literature, numerous personal contacts, and lots of
blind alleys we found quite a lot of data (including some on ferns!).
In fact we managed a linked dataset of 735 species from across the
world. The paper has just been published in Annals of Botany and you
can see it at
http://aob.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/co...ract/96/6/1027
We are still gathering data for the future, so if anybody spots an
obscure source, not mentioned in the paper, and where people have
analysed more than one plant species in the same environment for Si
content do let me know!
Best Wishes,
Martin Hodson
