Is this the evil Tamarisk?
Sorting out the various species (T. gallica, ramosissima, etc.) really
requires looking at the flowers under a microscope. That said, they all misbehave pretty much the same way in the SW U.S. Monique Reed Gnarlodious wrote: Is this the reviled Tamarisk as seen in Santa Fe , NM?: http://internet.cybermesa.com/~bludevil/P6160002.JPG Been trying to identify this Tamarisk for some time. -- Rachel http://www.Gnarlodious.com/Entities/...sHadriani.html |

I had a nice tamarisk once (T. chinensis) that I was growing as a bonsai, but
it was too much work. The genus is usually not considered hardy in Zone 5, but there is one in Syracuse. Iris, Central NY, Zone 5a, Sunset Zone 40 "If we see light at the end of the tunnel, It's the light of the oncoming train." Robert Lowell (1917-1977) |
