Intro
Didn't know this NG existed and sort of gave up on the other one and
just post announcements of the Photo of the Week. Thanks Jim. For those who missed the Mink last week, the link is below. However, there has been an interesting sequel to that. We have this sort of Mallard duck that a "friend" donated to our chicken flock and we decided it was time for him to earn his keep and clear our pond of duckweed. We took him down there and he took to water more like a chicken but finally did a little dabbling but spent most of the day resting on the bank. The last time we checked on him, he was taring across the pond with the mink in hot pursuit. He shot out of the water and followed Marilyn back to the chicken coop. We took him down there yesterday and was later seen dabbling in the middle, mink eating a small catfish and the Great Blue Heron fishing from his overhanging branch. No camera of course. I am curious to know if anyone has any first hand experience or evidence that ducks eat duckweed. For some background on our duckweed problem plug it into the search engine on our home page.
