Lily retrieval
Just lucky I guess.
I have had to repot every year for the past 4 years straight. I started out doing it every other year and then it happened. If I left the lilies go and do it the second year they had less blooming and were literally crawling out of their pots. One year, my white lily had a stock that was 2 and 1/2 feet long out of the pot covered with roots that were growing in the stuff on the bottom. I did get that one a larger pot, but it still is very vigorous and virtually needs repotting almost every year. I will have to check and see what the situation will be for this year. I will be trying lilies planting them in pea gravel this year to see how it works for me in my climate and my pond environment.
