Default gravel

I would resist the urge to place gravel. As others have said, too
muck-prone, difficult to clean.I understand your thought about
aesthetics at first, but plants will cover the bottom mostly anyway.
I've gone both ways, and am happy that the bottom is smooth. Regards,
