When edging grass next to a pond, get an electric (re-chargable) clippers,
not a weed whacker. ~ jan

Actually it does have pickerell that gets tall in the summer so that could be a
problem.

Hal, that is exactly what i do-use a net to get the clippings out and

press on!
LOL!
The wedding veil net is a great idea! I could also be cheap. i will price

some
net and see. The nets Beckett and other places sell start at $30.00 and

wont
stop grass clippings, only leaves and large debris.

Somewhere in my brain a small voice is shouting, "DON'T USE YOUR WIFE'S
WEDDING VEIL!!!!"

Our pond's previous owner (and builder) used shade cloth and PVC pipe to
make 3 frames to cover the figure 8 shape pond. The shade cloth has
casings at each side, PVC pipe is threaded through the casings and
connected with elbow and T connectors. We use the covers in the fall,
and sometimes when weed whacking and mowing. The covers are also good
for providing cover for the fish in the winter / early spring before
there's a lot of plant growth. The covers are fairly lightweight, easy
to move, and can be positioned around taller plants or edge plantings.
