What is the best adhesive for joining two liners together? Patty Tetra has a double stick tape for joining two pieces of liner. It works great but it's very expensive. There may be other brands available but Tetra is the only one I've seen for sale. -- Bonnie NJ http://home.earthlink.net/~maebe43/ |

You CAN do it, using seaming tape, but I would not recommend it, especially
if you are in a zone with lots of frost (affects the seams along the walls as things shift a bit), or have gravel on the bottom of your pond (harder to repair a leak on the bottom, as you have to move the gravel away from the seamed area to locate/repair same.). Some have been successful at joining liners in this fashion with no leaks, but considering your investment, and the work required to redo it if a leak develops, you are better off, IMO, to buy a full size replacement (one solid piece) liner, and go with that. Save the old liner for a stream, adjacent bog garden, or something else. Happy ponding, Greg "Coffee" wrote in message ... this would be an old liner edge to a new liner. expanding the pond into two. The old pond is 12ft by 16ft and 4ft deep--I would be joining a smaller
runoff to the side seaming the liners only at the runoff-about 3ft wide and only 1ft deep at the seam. I am trying to make the second pond a drop down so it could only leak so far anyway, I just wasn't to sure what was the best to use the repair glue or the tape. Thanks for the advice. Patty |
