DFW snail sale
I'm taking down a 3500+ gallon pond in my back yard so the kids will have a
place to play. Most of the old pond will be reconstructed at my parents home, but on a smaller scale. I've got about 40 TRAP DOOR SNAILS (also called MOSS BACK SNAILS in these parts) that I don't need. These things give live birth (meaning they don't lay eggs), so they won't over-run your pond. They are great at eating the algae and gunk off the sides and bottom of the pond and grow to about the size of a golf ball. ** I haven't found a pet store that wants them so I'm writing to see if any fellow ponders in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area are interested and/or in need of some snails. ** I'd be happy to give these guys away free to good homes, but you'd have to come get them (I live in Frisco - north of Plano @ 121 and the Tollway). They're all going in the temporary kiddy pool holding tank today. I'll also have about 10 gold fish, 6-10 inches long, some 6 years old and all in good health, that will need new homes. These were all feeder goldfish that survived the "is the water safe for fish test" in 2 ponds and have grown to be good sized. (I'm keeping the shibunkins and the fan tails for the new pond, so don't even ask. ;-) If interested, reply to this post or send email to Tim Wardell Frisco, TX Zone 7/8 |
