Default Red Spot

I have a shiro utsuri koi which has developed a red spot on the white
part of him. About the size of a pencil eraser. Would anybody know what
it could be & how to treat if need be..

Thanks

======================
It sounds like "ulcer disease".... see www.koivet.com run by a lic.
veterinarian. Also Google "ulcer+disease" for more information. This isn't
an easy disease to treat. We lost all but one koi to these ulcers back in
the late 90s. Since we've been using KoiZyme we have not had the problem
again.

You'll need to treat it. Since this is a scaled fish the wound may be worst
than it is. IME, sores from shore are 10 times worst up front and personal.
Check out www.AKCA.org find a local koi club in your area, if possible,
they may have trained KHAs (Koi Health Advisors) that can help you out,
free. ~ jan www.jjspond.us
