Slime
My pond clear but I have notice green slime starting to form on the rocks in
the waterfall. Does anyone have suggestion on what to do? This is my first full year with the pond, I completed it in September of last year. I know I probably need to add some form of bacteria but what? I did a test on the water and this is what I found. pH 8.0 (is that high?) Ammonia and Nitrite 0 (no fish yet) Salt .04% Any help for this pond newbie will be appreciated, http://photos.yahoo.com/hammgraham |

Graham wrote My pond clear but I have notice green slime starting to form on

(Don't feed them at this time.) After they eat that feed them very sparingly. Let the substrate algae grow elsewhere in the pond, healthy for the pond and the fish. There is *always* going to be some kind of algae going on. Keep the larger plants coming and that will help. k30a |
