Default Thread/string algae

What's the best way to deal with string algae? I usually allow my ponds to be
coered by azzola but this year i am trying to keep one pond with an open
surface but the thread algae is cloging up the pond, even to the point of
entangling fish. How do i win this battle?

remove nospam from e-mail to send to me, I grow trees in aquariums like bonsai.
I breed dwarf crayfish, great for planted community tanks. If you can get me a
shovelnose sturgeon fingerling (Scaphirhynchus platorynchus) no wild caught
please, contact me
