pond design
We're designing a 4000 gallon pond.
Designer has speced two 90gpm pump, two 3" floor drains and a skimmer. We have 4 water falls. One pump serves two waterfalls and the other serves the filter and the two other waterfalls. I think that the water falls should be segregated from the filter, but he tells me not to. When falls are off an automatic device will continue to circulate this water into the pond for airation without the sound of the falls. I'd like to post the plumbing riser and specs for feedback, is this possible? |

Post specs or ask questions here. If you have pictures, create a web page
at one of the free web page sites that we all have available. Looking at what you have posted, it would appear that you are going to have gravel in the pond, since the 3" floor drain is a standard drain for the aquascape system. Personally, and you will hear from others, I would not have the gravel in the pond. It collects all kinds of debris and cleaning is a real chore. Some like it and if they do not have very many fish, and then only goldfish or minnows, enjoy. Proper bottom drains have a domed lid to keep the fish out and to minimize the vortex that can be created, but they require a flat smooth pond bottom to work. -- RichToyBox http://www.geocities.com/richtoybox/pondintro.html "Barry" wrote in message nk.net... I will scan the plan and riser diagram and list the quipment spec.
BTW, this pond is intended to be a concrete structure with a pebble tech finish. There should be no gravel. There will be large rocks for turtles to hang out on.
