Default Sources for airstones

Hi all,

I need an airstone that will work in 3 feet of water. Where does one
get such a thing?

TIA

John

any airstone will work in 3 feet of water, it is the air pump that has to have high
enough pressure to blow down to that depth. call aquatic ecosystems. they are
online, they know everything. Ingrid

the airstone isnt the issue, the pump is.

a Tetra Luft should do it but more than
likely a sm. compressor will be needed.

My pond is 3 feet deep. I buy a Maxima Ultima pump
from PetSmart. I'm sure you can get it anywhere. No need
to pay the exhorbitant shipping from Aquatic Ecosystems.
I don't put the pump on the bottom in the winter time. About
4 inches below the surface of the water is fine. Been doing this
for 8 or 9 years.

Tetra makes a line of deep water pumps, which will pump 3ft deep, which
are meant for tall aquriums.

Rather than an air stone, whose small holes plug up, I'd suggest using a
piece of PVC (or other plastic pipe) which has a slit cut in it.

This way, when (not if) the airation creates build up, it will just move
further along the slit, and not plug up completely.

Big bubbles work well to keep the surface from freezing, you don't need
to super fine the bubbles.
