Default state of the pond

on 2-20 the pond water temp was 50oF and all of the koi came streaming to the corner
I lift smacking their lips wanting food so I fed them a very small amount. on 2-22
the temp was 52oF. the hardy water lilies never died and are looking pretty good.
the koi's last feeding was on 1-16 so they were "down" for a little more than a
month. this is compared to last year where the last feeding was around Oct 8th and
the first feeding was around April 15.
I think the 500 watt heater is definitely worth it.
