Colorado Springs, CO. We have had snow already. 74 yesterday. 48
today and more rain and snow by weeks end. Water fall still going,
veggie filter off, bog pond going. I will probably shut off the other
filters and water fall in a week or so. Maybe this Friday as the
temperatures are supposed to be very nice. Good time to rinse filter
and remove parrots feather. :-) :-) .

Zone 5a here.

We've had some minor frost, but the WH are still going. The water has been
off for about a week and the pump came inside today.

The fish are coming inside this year, the indoor pond has arrived and the
lights s/b here any day. I'm probably a couple of weeks late, but
fortunately it's been a mild fall.

I stated earlier in a post were still cutting grass and its kind of
muggy outside.......tonight, the bad news hit while watching the
weather channel.......oh lordy here comes the cold weather. As per
newsman: Cold snap tonight lasting into the weekend..with lows in the
mid 50's anticipated during the nights and highs of low 80s to high
70's during the days......and coming back to normal temps starting
the begining of next week..........

Oh and my water is still holding a nice 76-78 degress, but I have to
confess I need a bunch of water to get the big ponds topped off, and
no rain is in sight....bummer

Zone 5 NE Ohio- still mild, tomorrow 63 degrees, next 3 days after that forcast for 50's. Fish slowed down a little- but not hanging out at the bottom. Every mild day brings one less day of winter. Rock on mother nature!!!!!

Default the state of the pond

Today it is very mild in Colorado Springs. I decided to use the warm
weather and day off from school to take down my "veggie coffins" (as my
neighbors call it) to prepare for putting the veggie filter in the
ground. What a world under there!!! A black and yellow salamander, too
many night crawlers to count and they soon disappeared into the earth, a
pregnant mouse, slugs, bugs and bugs and more little critters. I felt
kind of bad disturbing their new 'home' :-( . But what a time for
exploring and even reminiscing about the MS (where I was born and grew
up) and all the critters that live there and provided years of wonder
for me and my siblings. Here in the springs, it is often so dry, I do
not routinely see the kind of life I found under the veggie filter.
Anyway... just a few more piece to take a part and the 'box' will be
gone and the area prepped for the ingound veggie filter/stream.
Happy last warm days of fall! :-) :-D .
