I did similar, but started the 1st of October and brought one fish at a
time in over 4 weeks. Worked great, no big spikes, though I used Amquel, so
no toxic ammonia and nitrite was almost nil.

I used all tap water, and let the filter run for 5 days before introducing
first fish. I made sure the pH was the same as pond, then I brought fish
in, in a tub and didn't transfer them till the end of the day so they
gradually warmed up. At the same time I brought in a bucket of pond water,
salted it (per Ingrid's advice) and just before they went into tank, they
were salt dipped 3-5 minutes. ~ jan

be sure to drop airstone in the tub while fish are in there.... Jan didnt mention

salted it (per Ingrid's advice) and just before they went into tank, they

Yes, I didn't mention, but I did do it. Aerate both tub & bucket.
